Caring for the Holistic Actor…

While many actors would say that this art is their divine calling, we also know that acting in the film industry can sometimes be trying. We aim to make the life of an actor just a little bit easier and a little bit better by giving them opportunities that feed their mind, body, soul and of course, their beloved profession without bombarding them and without hurting their pocketbook.

We keep it simple by alternating between social mixers and educational and/or enriching events every three months with the goal of keeping actors connected to each other in this post-Covid world and strengthening their inner welfare while simultaneously developing their artistry and film business savviness.

Join filmmaker Jason Starne as he shares his compelling journey into the world of cinema—from his early beginnings in post-production to his evolution into a VFX artist, producer, editor, and now writer-director.

In just four years, Jason has produced a string of narrative feature films, including Whitetail (his first live-action feature, where he also wore the hats of producer, VFX supervisor, and editor), Red Stone, Boon, and the recently released Tonic—each featuring notable Hollywood talent.

During this talk, Jason will walk through the key milestones of his career, offering candid insights into the highs and lows of working through industry strikes, union complexities, and the disruptions of COVID—all while continuing to bring stories to life. He’ll also dive into his current slate of projects in development, revealing how they came to fruition.

Beyond his personal journey, Jason will reflect on the broader role of media—not just as entertainment, but as a powerful force shaping communication, culture, and everyday experience.

Whether you're a seasoned industry professional or an aspiring filmmaker, this session offers an honest, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to build a sustainable career in film and media.
